Much of Corner Farm was built in the 17th Century. Little of the house is known before 1700, but the deeds show the owner in 1724 to be an Elizabeth Dunne.

Lower Catton as it was once known, was the site of the Manorial home of King Harold (1066 battles of Stamford Bridge and Hastings). There has probably been a settlement on the site at Corner Farm for over 1,000 years as the current owners, couple Tim and Sharon Stevens, have found lots of medieval pottery, whilst planting an apple orchard. If only walls could talk: they would no doubt have a lot to say about this wonderful 17th Century farmhouse.
